Co-founder of Babble

Rufus Griscom

I co-founded three companies in the last 15 years — first Nerve, in 1997, an early online magazine about sex and culture, recently sold (buyer not yet disclosed); second Spring Street Networks, an online dating technology company sold to Various, Inc. in 2005; and third Babble, a website for a new generation of parents, backed by Greycroft, Village Ventures and iNovia Capital, sold to Disney in November, 2011. Babble evolved into a platform for female influencers, covering a wide range of women’s lifestyle, distributed through social media.

For the last two years I have run Babble as business unit for The Walt Disney Company, and helped develop digital strategy for Disney Interactive. I am now doing advisory work for media companies, mentoring startups, assisting VCs, and beginning work on my next business.

I am in an immersive period right now, spending a lot of time talking with people doing innovative things in online media … happy to connect. (from LinkedIn)
