Joanna McFarland is the co-founder and CEO of HopSkipDrive, the safe and reliable rideshare solution for parents who need to get their children where they need to go when they’re not able to do so themselves. The company was born out of the real frustration of Joanna and her co-founders who, as busy, safety-obsessed parents themselves, struggled to get their children to all of their activities.
Before starting HopSkipDrive in 2014, Joanna spent 15 years leading product management and business development for a wide range of top technology and online brands. Her career spans executive level roles at companies including WeddingChannel, Green Dot, YP.com and Oversee.net. Over the course of her career, she has launched and scaled several businesses including the Walmart MoneyCard, and the YP local ad network.
In addition to her management experience, Joanna spent the first part of her career as an investment banking analyst at Salomon Smith Barney and in private equity as an investment analyst at Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst, working on leveraged acquisitions across a wide variety of industries
Joanna has a M.B.A. from Stanford University and a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
